Technology

At last I have an iphone! I had a similar one from Nokia but am so pleased with my new baby.
Time speeds by and we rely more and more on technology to help us keep up to date, even dinosaurs like me ( I take that back, now as a published author I am dynamite.)
There have been some nice things written about my book, on Jessica Rowe's blog, an online magazine called The Hoopla (thank you Jess) and in personal emails and phone messages, all very encouraging. One of the members of my Toastmaster's club, bought it on Kindle and brought her pad with her to show me at the last meeting. Many thanks Bar.
Another friend bought it from Amazon and it arrived by mail as I drove up to her door, what a coincidence as it took 2 weeks to get there. Thank you Karin. Sadly most people seem to just lend it around to their friends and relatives and that's no way to become a best seller.
My right hand lady, Pat Fulford has been busy emailing all the Radio, TV stations and newspapers with the press release (she is a genius with an Applemac, thanks Pat) and I have four speaking engagements coming up, so we are busy. Added to that I won first place in the Humorous Speech Contest at Toastmasters, so now it's on to the next round up against other clubs.
How I am supposed to fit in nursing, coaching, running a home, keeping the garden looking Ok and entertaining I don't know, the gym attendance has suffered but that was because of my bad cold really. I can't neglect my husband, he is my reason for living.
Congratulations to my son who just scored a top job, more about that later.
In reality it's the blog that gets forgotten, but I'll try to rectify that!

Quote from Marianne Williamson in her book "A Return To Love"

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela quoted this in his inaugural speech in 1994 and is often mistakenly given credit for writing it. I love it so much I used it in  my book "From Dinosaur To Dynamite,The Secret Of Joyful Sex" on page 150.

Good Reactions

Fabulous week of favourable reactions to my book, thank you dear friends who bought a copy or the kindle version. Lovely birthday party for a talented singer/songwriter on Sunday, she sang one of her own compositions that I love and have her permission to share below. All rights of the owner of copyright in these written lyrics reserved.  No copying, public performance or broadcasting of these lyrics without consent of the author.

I'm a Vintage Model, Baby  C  Jennifer Lees 2010

I'm a vintage model, baby, built for comfort not for speed
If you want a slow and steady ride this model's what you need
I'm not some flashy sports coupe that's quick to reach the ton
I may be slow to get up steam, but this engine sure can run.
Refrain:
I'm a vintage model, baby,  I'll take you for a ride
I'm a vintage model, baby, slip inside.
I'm a vintage model, baby, my chassis' a little worn
My ducos' cracked and faded, my upholstery is torn
My crankshaft 's getting cranky, my differential's differential
But I'm a classic convertible with a lot of torque potential.
Refrain
I'm a vintage model, baby, my temperature gauge is broke
My valves they need re-boring, my engine needs some choke
My parts need lubricating, my ball joints are wearing out
My rear suspension's sagging and there is little doubt that
I'm a vintage model, baby, I'll take you for a ride
I'm a vintage model, baby, slip inside.
I'm a vintage model, baby, let me take you for a ride
Forget my rough exterior and gently slip inside
Rev the engine slowly and when its running smooth
Be gentle with the clutch as you slip into the groove.
Refrain
I'm a vintage model, baby, with a gear shift stuck in low
Radiator's overheating and the pressure's gonna blow!
Engage the clutch now, baby, make sure the brake is off!
Pump that gas now, baby, this old car is taking off!
Many thanks Jenny, you are a talented lady.

August already!

Another fabulous weekend at the Hunter valley, perfect weather, lovely people and a good session on Saturday night helping dispel some fears and worries about sex as we mature.
We love Elysia, custom built as a retreat, the accommodation, food, staff, everything is just beautiful.
Lisa Gooch from Savvi let me take some gadgets up to show everyone, beautifully crafted, tasteful  and elegant, no wonder they were very well received. See www.savvi.com.au
It gave me a chance to extol the virtues of Kegel exercises for men as well as ladies, because the exercises can avoid the embarrassment of premature ejaculation as well as stress incontinence.
I  had a wonderful email from a satisfied client of my coaching business, good news from KerriAnne and a request from the library for promotional material for my talk there next month. Life is very good right now.
